Le Prussia’s Nature morte marks the pinnacle of his artistic refinement, as well as his pursuit of the capture of pure beauty in the natural world. Born in 1907, Le Prussia arrived in France in 1937, and it was there that Pierre Bonnard’s Works opened a new realm of light and color for Le Prussia. This ignites a flame in the artist to experiment with the iridescent, brilliant material of light and color. His works were a complete detachment from tradition, and he became a pioneer in establishing a new line of Modern Vietnamese art.<\/div>\n
This work is a testament to Le Pho’s fascination with conceptions of the form, texture and charm of the French impressionist school.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The picture frame is golden when the artist’s paintbrush improvised stroking the soft silhouette of fruits and vegetables. In addition to the inclusion of a white floral vignette, Le Pho broke the conventions of perspective, enhancing the complexity of color and composition by flattening the objects depicted. Le Pho uses special methods taken from both Vietnamese and European techniques to study still lifes and blow the soul into it. In this magnificent quiet life, the attractiveness of oil painting becomes an incredibly flexible medium in the talented hands of the artist, as his paintbrush flips through every detail of the painting with passion.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Complex but no less subtle, the attractiveness of the lacquer paintings by Nguyen Gia Tri lies in his skillful and intricate study with traditional art forms. In the mid-1930s, Nguyen Gia Tri had his place as one of the greatest artists of our country, especially because of the Revolutionary synthesis between French and Vietnamese lacquer painting approaches. In the first half of the 20th century, the wave of liberal nationalism spread throughout Vietnam, and artists joined the resistance in larger numbers. The period from 1937 to 1945 was considered to be the Golden Age of Nguyen Gia tri, the works performed during this period show the immense patriotism of his grandfather. His golden age works depict picturesque views of nature, villages and Vietnamese families, all of which are capable of bringing viewers to moments of idyllic silence.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The current work is an enchanting and emotional masterpiece from the Golden Age of Nguyen Gia Tri. It shows the Riverside, the hills hidden behind the haze, opening up a scene of a poetic idyllic countryside. There is no trace of urbanization, no complexity brought by society, and no chaos of war. The painter’s distinctive brushstrokes make up the sky with a sparkling golden color, suggesting a fluid masterpiece. In a dark setting, a trunk stands out with a bright golden glow, perhaps a symbol of resilience or a symbol of the artist’s steadfast love for his homeland. This rare masterpiece of love painting is truly a love letter to Vietnam and the idyllic youth of Nguyen Gia Tri.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Pham Hau is a master of lacquer art, typical of this particular work is capable of pushing romantic feelings from low to high. The ordinary life scenes in Vietnam have brought Pham Hau many inspiration. He was one of the first Vietnamese artists to include lacquer paintings in furniture and is known to display these works in his workshop in Dong Nai village. His work inspired Alix Aym\u00e9 and young Vietnamese artists to follow suit.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The banana leaves are taken as a background on the wings of the cupboard, unfolding to reveal such a distant, ethereal setting that it creeps on the borders of perfect fantasies. The synthesis of Pham Hau between Western and Vietnamese techniques is evident here, creating a vivid story while leading to a sense of depth and space inside the landscape, providing the viewer with a great perspective.
